Hey all! Just a reminder that ALL your work should be on your copy of Online Seminar Work. Please copy and paste ALL the stuff from this week's document (linked above) onto your original document that should already be shared with me. Week 2 Seminar Prewrite (DUE: Monday, April 13 by 8:30 am) Choose TWO of the questions listed on the Online Seminar Work document to answer for your seminar prewrite. Your responses should be in well-thought out paragraphs that reference the text. Put your Seminar Prewrite directly on your Online Seminar Work document Week 2 Discussion (DUE: Monday, April 13) For all of the discussion formats have your annotations, story, and prewrite on hand and ready to reference! Variation 1 - With the internet. Join one of the three scheduled Zoom discussions (if you are planning to attend, email me by 3:00 Friday 4/10 to RSVP and tell me which time you will join).
Variation 2 - Limited Internet. Insert your pre-writes into the Google Docs Discussion document. Comment and discuss ideas in the comment section of the google doc (minimum requirement for credit: 10 comments) Variation 3 - Without the internet. Choose a family member to discuss the questions listed on your Online Seminar Document with. Take notes on what is said as you go, then have them write a quick note at the bottom of the notes confirming that you have discussed the questions for the week. Take a picture of the notes and confirmation, and text it to me at 970-403-5793. Week 2: Written Response (DUE: MONDAY, April 20 by 8:30 am)
I will be looking at what you have so far on Wednesday, April 15, and leaving comments/feedback, so having a rough draft or outline by that morning would probably be helpful for you! Seminar Reflection, Part ONE Write a piece of short fiction that extends the story of Omelas. This should be between ½-1 page. Use your literary devices! Try to imitate her style, or develop your own! See the Online Seminar Work for more details and options. Seminar Reflection, Part TWO Choose one of the discussion questions listed on your Online Seminar Document. Write ONE thorough and well organized TEA paragraph that answers the question. Take your time and craft this carefully. Remember to:
This can build on your prewrite, but should extend your ideas and show more careful thought and writing.
